"There Are No Strangers Here"

Faith Formation Program Overview

ENROLLMENT OPENS JULY 1, 2026

ONLINE ONLY — right here on this page

This program is for children in 2nd through 8th grade who need to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Baptism and/or First Communion.

At Holy Name of Jesus, we are honored to walk with your child as they prepare to receive the beautiful Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

Our HNJ KIDS First Communion Program is designed to help children grow in faith, understanding, and love for Jesus — no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.

Using a blend of two exceptional curriculums — PILLARS OF FAITH by Ascension Press and RECEIVED by Ascension Press — we offer an engaging, age-appropriate pathway for students in 2nd through 8th grade.

Class Time: Sundays from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Students begin with our morning Welcome Session in Trinity Center, then move to the school building for class. Dismissal takes place via carline from the front doors of the school building.

  • PILLARS OF FAITH is used for 2nd–3rd grade students.
  • RECEIVED is used for 4th–8th grade students.

Throughout the year, your child will:

  • Discover the meaning and importance of the sacraments
  • Learn to pray and grow closer to Jesus
  • Participate in hands-on activities and discussions
  • Learn about the rich traditions and history of the Catholic Faith
  • Prepare their hearts for Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

Our goal is simple: to help every child feel known, loved, and ready to step confidently into their life as a young disciple of Christ.

HNJ YTH Confirmation is a dynamic, discipleship-centered program that prepares teens to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation with understanding, confidence, and a genuine desire to follow Christ.

Designed for high school students in Grades 9–12, our program blends solid Catholic teaching with real-life conversations, prayer, service, and community-building experiences that speak directly to today’s young people.

Class Time: Sundays from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Classes take place in Trinity Center on scheduled Sundays for Year 1 and Year 2 students.

We use Decision Point by Dynamic Catholic as our foundational curriculum. This engaging, teen-friendly program invites students to reflect deeply on who they are, the choices they make, and the life God is calling them to live.

Throughout the year, teens will:

  • Discover what it means to be a disciple in the modern world
  • Learn about the gifts and mission of the Holy Spirit
  • Explore the teachings and beauty of the Catholic Faith
  • Grow in prayer and strengthen their relationship with God
  • Serve others through acts of charity and community involvement
  • Build authentic friendships with peers on the same journey

We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where every teen feels valued, heard, and encouraged.
