"There Are No Strangers Here"
Music is integral to the funeral rites. Holy Name encourages all families to have a vocalist and a pianist for the liturgy. Secular music (recorded or live) is not appropriate during funeral liturgies. We encourage families to play these songs during a family gathering in the funeral home or family member's home.
Holy Name of Jesus Musicians must be used for the funeral liturgy. No outside musician is permitted. It is permitted for a family member or friend to sing/play a song during the funeral liturgy but it does not replace the hiring of Holy Name of Jesus trained musicians for the funeral liturgy.
If the family is handling the planning of the funeral liturgy, payment to musicians must be turned in to the Church office no later than 1 week before the funeral liturgy date to secure musicians.
If a funeral home is handling the planning, payment may be presented to musicians on the date of the funeral liturgy by the funeral director.
PAYMENT METHOD: Cash or Check
Checks should be made payable to each individual musician.
